FAISALABAD, Nov 22: Two children of a nomad family were burnt alive on Thursday night when their hut caught fire in Chak 156-RB, Chak Jhumra.
Jamshed (3) and his sister Razia Mushtaq (5) were playing with pieces of burnt coals in their hut in the absence of parents when clothes lying near caught fire. Instead of leaving the hut, the children took shelter in a cot.
The fire engulfed the entire hut within few minutes. The area people and members of other nomad families rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire, but they could not save the children.
GANG-RAPED: Three people allegedly gang-raped a married girl on Thursday after tying her husband and in-laws with ropes on gunpoint over a marriage issue in Chak 367-GB.
Muhammad Ramzan along with his two unidentified masked accomplices overpowered the girl in the fields in the presence of other family members.
They thrashed the male members of Ashfaq, tied them with ropes and gang-raped the girl in the presence of victim’s husband, father-in-law, brother-in-law and others.
The outlaws fled after committing the crime.
Police said Ramzan had a grudge with the family of Ashfaq over a matrimonial issue.
Satiana police have registered a case on the report of Ashfaq.
SUMMONED: The Zila Council convener, B.K. Tabish, has summoned the District Assembly session on Nov 28 which will continue till Dec 2.
During the session, a proposal for the levy of the toll tax on Narwala Road, Millat Road, Jhang Road, Canal Road and Sargodha Road will be presented before the house for approval.
The Zila Council session which was called for approving the plan of imposing toll tax a month ago ended for want of quorum.
