KARACHI, Nov 22: The committee of chairmen of boards of education in Sindh on Friday finalized dates for conducting the Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate annual examinations 2003, simultaneously in the province.
A meeting of the board chairmen here on Friday said that SSC theory examinations would commence on March 1, followed by practicals, while no date was fixed for intermediate exams. However, it was decided that the inter exams would be held sometime between April 19 and 25.
As a routine, it is the duty of the education department to give dates of examinations from secondary to higher education class examinations. Such decisions are, normally, taken at a meeting of the steering committee of the education department, which is held once in a year, often in October, said a source.
A source said that dates of exams, as finalized by the chairmen’s committee, would be forwarded for approval to the governor, who is also the controlling authority of the boards.
