Mansehra dist Naib Nazim elected

MANSEHRA, Nov 20: Nazim of the Malikpur union council, Sher Afzal Khan, was elected Naib Nazim of the district council at its special session for the election held on Wednesday.  

He got 52 votes in the house of 80. A total of 79 votes were polled and a woman who turned up at the time of counting and was not allowed to vote.

Nazim of Pairan Khairabad UC, Syed Turanb Shah, who was supported by NWFP Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) General Secretary Sardar Mohammad Yousaf, secured 27 votes.

The seat of the Naib Nazim had fallen vacant after Shahzada Mohammad Gustasap Khan was elected member of the NWFP Assembly from PF-55, Mansehra-III.

The council also elected four members of the public safety commission (PSC), including a woman.

There was a contest between four men for three seats of the commission and between four women.

Gari Habibullah UC Nazim Jehangir Nasim Khan, Sam-dhara Nazim Ali Mohammad Tanoli and Hillkot Nazim Moh-ammad Jan were members of the PSC with 26, 25 and 22 votes respectively. Khalid Javed Khan, Nazim of the Mansehra city-III union council got six votes.   Ms Khudeeja was elected member of the commission with 34 votes.
