HYDERABAD, Nov 19: Noted Sindhi writer and educationist Jamal Rind died here on Tuesday morning due to cardiac arrest. He was 69.

Jamal Rind had served as the principal of the Public School Hyderabad for many years. He had also served as the secretary, Sindh Text Book Board.

He belonged to the first generation of progressive Sindhi writers. He wrote over a dozen short stories and was awarded for his short story “Manijo Gabho” (a piece of bread) by the Sindhi Language Authority.

His body was taken to his ancestral village of Jhol, Sanghar district, for burial.

EXHIBITION: A two-day science exhibition will be held at the Noor Mohammad Govern-ment Boys High School Hyde-rabad and the Government Girls High School Hirabad, Hyderabad.

The district officer, Edu-cation (higher secondary), Hyderabad, has said that the schools interested in participating in the science fair would have to deposit Rs500 as registration fee.
