Nadeem propels Shaheen Gym home

KARACHI, Nov 18: Opener Nadeem Tariq hammered 60 off only 34 deliveries to help Shaheen Gymkhana trounce Delhi City Gymkhana by six wickets in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Tournament at AKG Ground here Monday.

Nadeem, who smashed four sixes and as many boundaries, was declared Man-of-the-Match as Shaheen Gymkhana reached their target of 146 in 18.1 overs.

Nadeem and Imran Umar, who hit 51 off 45 balls with two fours and one six, shared an opening stand of 104.

Sharjeel Ashraf claimed three for 32 with his of-spinners.

Earlier, Delhi Gymkhana, who elected to bat first, were restricted to 145 for eight in their quota of 25 overs.

Asif Ali top-scored with 53 off 43 balls. He slammed three sixes as well as three fours.

DELHI CITY GYMKHANA 145-8 in 25 overs (Asif Ali 53, Hammaduddin 24; Khawar Aziz 2-22, Mohsin Akhtar 2-24, Mohammad Ali 2-32);

SHAHEEN GYMKHANA 146-4 in 18.1 overs (Nadeem Tariq 60, Imran Umar 51; Sharjeel Ashraf 3-32).
