LANDI KOTAL, Nov 18: The Khyber Agency political authorities in Bara subdivision killed a notorious kidnapper and arrested three others in separate operations last week.

The wanted criminal, Qasab Khan alias Qasabay, was killed during an encounter with the Khasadar force at Karigar Garhi area in Bara. The Khasadar force was also assisted by members of the local peace committee.

The authorities had earlier arrested Qasabay’s father to force him to surrender.

In another operation, the assistant political agent Bara arrested three carjackers, Maidan Shah, Mohammad Khan and Sher Rehman while houses of Akbar Jan, Hakim Khan, Guli Khan and Khitab Gul were demolished for their alleged involvement in a number of kidnapping cases.

The Bara administration also sealed some 20 shops of the relatives of another notorious kidnapper Sial Khan Sialay under the Frontier Crimes Regulation law. Sialay is wanted by the authorities in a number of kidnapping, carjacking and road robbery cases.

Notables of the area accused the administration of providing a safe passage to Sialay.
