GOOSEN WINS

SINGAPORE: South African Retief Goosen was the biggest money winner with $70,000 in the Singapore Skins tournament at the Tanah Merah Country Club Sunday.

Playing for the first time in a skins event, the European number one won $60,000 on the 177-yard, par three 11th after the previous six holes had been halved.

World number six Garcia was bottom of the pile, winning only one skin, worth $15,000, with a great shot on the par-five 15th.

He sank his nine-iron from 126 yards for an eagle and celebrated by rolling in the fairway grass as soon as he knew that the ball had finished at the bottom of the cup.—Reuters/AFP
