KARACHI: Labour policy rejected

Published November 18, 2002

KARACHI, Nov 17: The Pakistan Railway Workers Federation has demanded abolition of the recently announced labour policy and restoration of trade union activities.

Manzoor Razi, chief of the federation, speaking at a meeting of the railway workers here on Sunday, said that the Presidential Ordinance 2000 and the amendment to it, made in the following year, be repealed as their implementation had resulted in retrenchment of thousands of PR workers besides forced retirements and harassment to many others.
