Women Association for Balochistan

KARACHI, Nov 16: The Women Sports Organisers of Quetta/Balochistan, held a meeting and formed the Balochistan Women’s Tennis Association, a provincial chapter of the Pakistan Women’s Tennis Association.

At the meeting the affairs of tennis was discussed in general and women’s tennis in particular in reference to Balochistan.

It was unanimously decided that women’s tennis could be organised in various parts of the province beginning in Quetta. There is dire need to have a sports body to promote women’s tennis so far not existing in the province.

Dr. Saira S. Khan, founder President of the Pakistan Women’s Tennis Association, informed the meeting that Punjab, Sindh, and the Frontier Women’s Tennis Association have already been formed and affiliated with PWTA. The Balochistan Women’s Tennis Association will also be affiliated after being formed.

Later the representatives elected the following office bearers of the Balochistan Women’s Tennis Association.

Chairperson - Begum Jamila Daud.

Co-Chairperson - Dr. Arsala Mansoor.

Secretary Gen - Mrs. Zeenat Yaqoob.

Treasurer - Mrs. Musarrat Paul.

Executive Committee: Mrs. Salma Alauddin, Mrs. Kalsoom Rasheed, Mrs.

Shahida Tanseem and Mrs. Ishrat Aliani.
