Kidnapped oil worker freed with ransom note

SUKKUR, Nov 16: A person was kidnapped from Bakshapur on Saturday while an engineer working for a multinational oil exploration company, was released by the kidnappers.

Kausar Abbas, the engineer who was kidnapped on Friday evening, arrived at the Bakshapur camp after being released by the kidnappers along with a message to arrange the ransom for the release of the other two engineers — Adnan and Mohammad Siddiq.

Ghulam Haider, 18, was kidnapped while he was on his way to his home from his field near Bukshapur, Jacobabad district.

The incident has caused panic and harassment in the area.

Extraordinary precautions have been taken by the rangers and police for the safety of the employees of all multinational oil and gas exploration companies workingin various areas of Sindh.

The law enforcement agencies have asked them not to move from their base camps without taking extra measures for personal security. Extra force has been deployed in Sukkur, Khairpur, Kandhkot, Shikarpur and Jacobabad.
