KARACHI: PTCL ready to face new challenges, says chairman
KARACHI, Nov 16: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) is ready to face new challenges emerging from deregulation of the telecommunication sector, by providing better services to its customers.
Speaking at a meeting to review maintenance, operational and development issues on Saturday, PTCL chairman Akhter Ahmed Bajwa said that the corporation had focussed all its attention on customer-care and redressal of customers’ complaints regarding billings. He directed the officials to provide one-window operation facilities at all the customer service centres and fix a target for providing new connections.
The PTCL chairman said that to face the challenges after deregulation of the telecommunication sector, the lower staff should improve its attitude towards the customers.
To resolve the customers’ problems regarding PTCL calling card, he underlined the need for expediting completion of expansion work on In-Platform, so that the flow of traffic could be ensured.
Mr Bajwa ordered installation of computerized fault management system in eleven cities on a priority basis and stressed the need for proper advertisement of facilities to create awareness among the consumers about utilizing the modern facilities.
Due to increase in the number of internet users, the meeting decided to improve ADSL technology and set up alternative routs of SEA ME WE-3 cables, so that the customers could be provided with uninterrupted internet connections.
The meeting was informed about development work in Sindh and Balochistan.—APP
