ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has sent a message of felicitation on Friday to Mr Hu Jintao, on his election as the general-secretary of the Communist Party of China and at the successful conclusion of the party’s 16th Congress.

In his message, the president said: “On behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, I convey our warm and most sincere felicitations to Your Excellency on your election as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the successful conclusion of the 16th Party Congress.”

The president said that his election as the secretary-general of the party reflected confidence and trust that the Chinese people had reposed in his leadership.
