KGA group champions

KARACHI, Nov 15: Winning their third fixture on the trot, KGA Gymkhana became group champions in the Dalpat R. Sonavaria Ramazan Cricket Trophy, beating Income Tax by 43 runs Friday.

Batting first KGA got off to a marvellous start when Nadeem Tariq (66) and Sham Ramesh (68 n.o.) put on 129 runs for the first wicket. Hilary Rodrigues joining Sham after Nadeem’s dismissal, also got into the act and was still at the wicket with 44 as KGA raced to 195 for one wicket.

Income Tax could only manage 152 for the loss of seven wickets with opener Raja Saghir hammered an entertaining 76 studded with eight boundaries and three sixes. Off-spinner Errol Ribeiro was the pick of the KGA attack with three for 28.
