LAHORE, Nov 15: Tight security arrangements have been made to counter any reaction to the Aimal Kasi’s execution in the city and elsewhere in Punjab.

Heavy police contingent have been deployed at all the places known for holding protests on such occasions. Riot police have been deputed at Faisal Chowk, Regal Chowk, GPO Chowk, close to the civil secretariat, around the Shimla Hill and other public places like bus stands, hospitals, markets and shopping centres.

Special focus has been made on foreign installations and their missions. All roads leading to the installations have been barricaded with deployment of police and the men from the Elite Force.

Reports reaching the Punjab police control through its intelligence wing in the evening say there had been no discussion and instigation on the execution of Kasi in most parts of the province except for one mosque in Okara.

Senior police officers say they have directed the police commands in all the districts to continue strict vigil and tight security till the arrival of the Kasi’s body. — Reporter
