KARACHI, Nov 14: A swashbuckling unbeaten 73 by Rajesh Ramesh, enabled KGA Gymkhana move closer to the quarterfinal stage, after beating Bed & Bath CC by 13 runs, in the Dalpat R. Sonavaria Ramazan Cricket Trophy Thursday.

Having first use of the turf wicket, KGA were in dire straits losing their first two wickets with only 19 runs. But Ramesh joining Nadeem Tariq, steered his team out of the woods in an innings which contained 10 scorching boundaries and three sixes. Nadeem Tariq scored 45 as KGA raced to 166 for six in their 20 allotted overs.

Bed & Bath took up the challenge of scoring 167 runs for victory reaching 93 for two wickets in only 10 overs. However, with the quick dismissals of Irfan for 48 runs and Zeeshan (25), a batting collapse occurred, as Bed & Bath managed 153 for nine wickets

Leg spinners Mehmood Hussain three for 19 and Hilary Rodrigues two for 27, turned the tide in KGA’s favour.

Friday fixture: KGA Gymkhana v Income Tax 1-30 p.m.
