SIALKOT, Nov 14: Punjab Secretary (Education) Sibtain Fazal Halim has ordered the Sialkot education department to confiscate 75 per cent pension of the former district education officer for Daska Tehsil, Mohammad Bashir Minhas.

The order was issued after an inquiry proved that Mr Minhas had caused a loss of Rs131 million to the national exchequer and made 143 appointments of teachers in violation of the merit. Mr Minhas was unable to give satisfactory arguments in his defence before the high-ranking investigators. — Correspondent
