KARACHI, Nov 14: Most of the city’s markets will remain open without observing weekly holidays till Eid for the convenience of shoppers.
This was decided at a meeting of the Alliance of Market Associations, presided by its chairman, Atiq Mar.
The representatives of the markets of Arambagh, Eidgah, Motendas, Saddar, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Clifton and Liaquatabad attended the meeting, said a statement on Thursday.
It was decided that in the last 10 days of Ramazan the shops would remain open till very late in the night.
Attiq Mar asked the traders to announce special concession packages for Eid shoppers as well as facilities so that the people of middle- and low-income groups also shared the joy of Eid festival.
The meeting also warned those who indulge in profiteering in Ramazan to shun such practices.—APP
