PBSA chalks out ambitious programme

KARACHI, Nov 13: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) has chalked out a tentative calendar for for the year 2003.

The new year will start with 28th National Snooker Championship in January for which dates and venue will be decided later while the Nationals will be held either in Rawalpindi or Karachi.

Besides the National Snooker championship was to to start in first week of February but will now be held in late January in view of cricket World Cup which opens from Feb 8 in South Africa.

The winner and runner-up in the nationals as per the tradition will represent Pakistan in the Asian Snooker Champion being held in Kolkata (India) in April.

Pakistan’s two top ranked cueists will represent Pakistan in International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championship schedule to be held in Ching Ming City (China) in October 2003.

Venues for National Pool and Billiards and Red and Whites Cup will be decided later. Following is tentative calendar for 2003.

Jan Red and White National Snooker Feb 4th National Pool and Billiards April 7th Style National Snooker at Karachi Gymkhana April 2oth Asian Snooker Championship-Kolkata (India) Aug Red and White Cup Snooker Sept 17th Latif Masters Snooker-Karachi Club Oct IBSF World Snooker in China.—APP
