MIRPURKHAS, Nov 13: The chief executive, Hesco, taking serious notice of the rise in line losses in Mirpurkhas Division, has warned the officers concerned to contain the losses and take drastic measures against power theft failing which they would be terminated from service.

A few days ago the chief executive, Hesco, had taken notice of the 45 per cent increase in line losses in Mirpurkhas division alone.

He issued show cause notices to the executive engineer, Mirpurkhas division, SDOs, and line superintendents.

He warned them that if they failed to control the losses by 35 per cent, their services would be terminated.

The executive engineer, Mirpurkhas, convened a meeting of all SDOs and line superintendents to discuss the issue.

He directed the officers concerned to take action against the power thieves.

BLACK DAY OBSERVED: The workers of the Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union (CBA), Divisional Labour Union, Mirpurkhas division, observed a black day on Wednesday in Mirpurkhas division.

They wore black arm-bands and hoisted black flags against the retrenchment of five employees. They raised slogans against the sacking of the employees.
