KARACHI: SPLA delegation meets minister

KARACHI, Nov 13: A seven-members delegation of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers’ Association called on provincial education minister, Khan Mohammad Dehri, in his office on Wednesday.

The delegation apprised the minister of the teachers’ problems and expressed concern over the delay in their resolution.

A SPLA statement said Mr Dehri assured the delegation that he would take steps to resolve their genuine problems.

The delegation opposed the move to privatize educational institutions in the province.

It demanded that all those teachers hired on a contract basis be removed and in their places on-service teachers be posted. Similarly, senior teachers be appointed on key posts in the education sector.—APP
