Campaign against MPs condemned

By Our Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: Mian Raza Rabbani, acting secretary-general of Pakistan People’s Party, has said that the campaign launched by the government controlled electronic media against the elected representatives of the people should be condemned.

In a statement issued here on Monday he said the campaign launched by the State controlled media was a part of the scheme to show that there was a political crisis in the country. When in fact there was no such crisis. The suggestions in the campaign to allow floor crossing is condemnable, he said.

Mr Rabbani said an attempt was being made to justify the change of loyalties, horse-trading and reintroduction of the lota culture under the garb of national interests.

It is deplorable that a false majority for the PML-Q is being created by inducing members to change their loyalties, Mr Rabbani said.

This has been a unique election experience for the Pakistani nation; it commenced with blatant pre-poll rigging followed by, poll-day rigging, post-poll rigging, post rigging and now floor rigging of the National Assembly.
