Drug trafficker jailed

RAWALPINDI, Nov 11: The additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, on Monday awarded four months of rigorous imprisonment to a drug-trafficker after he confessed to his crime in the court.

According to Banni police, Mohammad Amin was arrested with 120gms of charas.

In another case, the additional district and sessions judge, Mian Mohammad Shafi, issued a show cause notice to the SHO of Westridge police station for not complying with court orders.

The SHO was a witness in a drug-trafficking case, but did not appear before the court to record his statement.

The additional district and sessions judge, Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmad, rejected the bail of an alleged murderer and sent him to jail.

According to Koh Murree police, Shafa had allegedly killed a person, Gul Mohammad, over a minor dispute.

EXONERATED: The judge of the Anti-Terrorist Court No 1, Manzoor Ahmad Mirza, on Monday exonerated a person of the charges of having links with a banned outfit due to lack of evidence.

The accused, Qari Sarfaraz, was acquitted during a special hearing of his case at Adiala Jail. He had been booked by Banni police under section 11F of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) for allegedly being a member of a banned organization.

He was also accused of collecting donations for his group as well as distributing sectarian literature among the masses.
