Education staff denied salary

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 11: Over 460 employees of the Education department based in the district have been denied their salary for the past five months.

Among them are 85 gazetted and 277 non-gazetted employees. They have appealed to the authorities concerned to release their salary before Eidul Fitr.

Meanwhile, the education department has sanctioned 30 new posts of assistant professors, lecturers and DPIs for the girls colleges of Satellite Town, Bahawalpur, Uch Sharif, Khairpur Tamewali and Girls Degree College, Dubai Mahal Road, Bahawalpur.

BOOKED: Sadar police have registered a murder case against four people, including the wife of Mst Bilqees, who with the connivance of her paramour Zahid Mahmood allegedly poisoned her husband Aslam.

Police launched a probe on the complaint of deceased Aslam’s parents to the Bahawalpur range DIG. The accused are still at large.
