Nawaz demands early convening of NA session
ISLAMABAD, Nov 10: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Mian Nawaz Sharif on Sunday expressed concern over the uncalled for delay in convening of the inaugural session of the National Assembly, saying that it is also part of post-poll rigging being carried out to bring king’s party into power.
Talking to the Vice-President of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) and PML-N, Begum Tahmina Daultana, by phone from Jeddah, he demanded immediate convening of National Assembly session to pave way for transfer of power.
He said the PML-N would fully adhere to the decisions of the ARD chief, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on the formation of the government and other important matters. He asked Begum Tahmina Daultana to convey his message to Nawabzada Nasrullah.
Begum Daultana called on Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan to convey the message of Nawaz Sharif to him.
Later, talking to newsmen, she said the PML-N being a component of the ARD would continued its struggle for the restoration of the 1973 Constitution.
Answering a question, she said the prevailing deadlock had been initiated by the government and not the politicians. She said the government was blocking the political process which was deplorable. “Is this the way to introduce genuine democracy,” she asked.
She said the National Assembly session should be convened without any further delay to allow the House to elect a Prime Minister.—PPI
