MIANWALI, Nov 10: Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) chairman MNA-elect Imran Khan has said that he would help set up exemplary educational institutions in the private sector to provide modern and purposeful education to the people of his constituency.

He was speaking to a convention of party workers also attended by councillors and other locally influential people here on Sunday. He said he had persuaded various NGOs into setting up three colleges, five high schools and 10 middles schools in Kalabagh, Daudkhel and Chakrala.

Mr Imran said the basic health units being administrated by the district government had no medicines and doctors. An NGO has agreed to set up a BHU at Swance.

In four other places, the NGO has agreed to impart training to local women to reduce child mortality. He also promised to set up a stadium in each union council.

He said restoration of electricity supply to 100 tube-wells topped his list of priorities. He said he would soon meet with the Wapda chairman to restore the power supply.
