Dacoits strike eight times

FAISALABAD, Nov 10: Outlaws shot dead a wagon driver, looted thousands of rupees in cash, hijacked a car, a wagon and three motorcycles in eight different strikes in and around the city during the last 24 hours.

Armed highwaymen intercepted the wagon of Urban Transport on the Faisalabad-Jhang Road and shot dead its driver, Riaz Hussain. The bandits also injured conductor Munawar Hussain and took away the wagon. The condition of Munawar was stated to be critical in the Allied Hospital.

Unidentified bandits busted into the house of Muhammad Farooq in Weaver Colony in the limits of Ghulam Muhammadabad police station. They held the inmates hostage at gunpoint and collected thousands of rupees in cash, mobile telephone sets and electric appliances. They also hijacked a motorcycle (FDZ-6894) from the house and escaped.

Three gangsters looted thousands of rupees in cash and medicines worth thousands of rupees from a medical store in Babar Chowk, Batala Colony. They also snatched a gun from the guard of the area and sped away.

Two masked highwaymen snatched Rs2,000 in cash and a two-wheeler (FDZ-8310) from Naseer Ahmed in Batala Colony.

Muhammad Ishaq was deprived of his two-wheeler (FDW-8219) by two masked robbers in Chak 57-JB in the jurisdiction of Nishatabad police station.

Thieves made off with thousands of rupees in cash and other articles from Muhammad Qamar’s house in Islam Nagar.

A gang of dacoits looted ornaments worth thousands of rupees and other valuablesfrom the family membersof Muhammad Afzal in Mansoorabad.

Thieves took away the car of Gulzar Ahmed from the parking lot of Bagh-i-Jinnah.

AXED TO DEATH: A girl and her alleged lover were axed to death on Sunday in Chak 269-GB, Lundianwala.

Razia Bibi had relations with a youth, Lali, of Chak 629-GB. Both the lovers were reprimanded by their parents to mend their ways, but to no avail. On Sunday, Razia and Lali were sitting when Shahbaz, Riaz, Akram and Jawed attacked them with axes, killing them instantly.

Police on the report of Lali’s mother have registered a case and are investigating.
