Security tightened as execution of Kasi nears


QUETTA, Nov 10: The provincial government has alerted the police, Balochistan Reserve Police and Frontier Corps ahead of the execution of Aimal Kasi for killing two CIA agents in Langley, Virginia.

Aimal Kasi, 37, is slated to be executed on Nov 14 in Virginia, United Stated. He was born in November 1964.

Federal Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider, speaking to Journalists in Islamabad said on Saturday that the final appeal filed by Aimal Kasi had been turned down by the US authorities.

After the turning down of his appeal, the federal government directed the provincial government for adopting measures to ensure law and order situation, particularly on Nov 14. Security of foreign natio-nals presently staying in the metropolis has also been enhanced.

Meanwhile, his nephew told newsmen here on Sunday that Mir Vise, younger brother of Aimal Kasi, had proceeded to the US two days ago while his elder brother Hameedullah Kasi is already there. They are likely to bring Aimal’s body to Pakistan.—PPI
