SUKKUR, Nov 10: At least a dozen suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping a businessman, Gurdas Mal, have been arrested by the Ghotki police on Sunday, the DPO, Ghotki Alam Odho, told newsmen in Daharki.

He said that those involved in the kidnapping had been identified and police conducted raids to arrest them for the safe recovery of Gurdas Mal.

The DPO refused to give the names of the arrested suspects saying that revealing their names could alert the kidnappers, which could jeopardize the recovery of Gurdas Mal.

The Hindu Panchayat, presided by Sevak Ram, and a Sikh leader, Gayan Singh, have demanded the Sindh governor for recovering Gurdas soon.

It may be recalled here that some armed men kidnapped Gurdas five days ago while he was on his morning walk.

Police said that the man had been kidnapped for ransom.

AXED TO DEATH: A man, A. Wasayo Bhambhro, 22, was axed to death by his maternal uncle, Khair Mohammad Bhambhro, in Salehpat on Sunday.

TWO DACOITS HELD: Two dacoits, Ghulam Nabi Shaikh and Deedar Shaikh, have been arrested from the Rohri-Kandhra link road on Sunday, while six managed to escape.

Police recovered two Kalashnikovs from their possession.
