KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Kuwait on Saturday called on Iraq to accept the latest United Nations Security Council resolution in order to avert war in the region.

Talking to reporters, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Sabah, hoped that Iraqi government would realize the situation and respect the UN Security Council resolution to avoid war in the region.

He urged Iraq government to treat the resolution seriously as the war could effect its people and the region. Sheikh Sabah said the circumstances were different from what they had been before, calling on Baghdad to take the resolution seriously.

He said Iraq was obliged to implement the resolution and would be held accountable if they did not do so.
