KARACHI, Nov 8: Danish Sports registered a narrow nine- run victory over Wakenhut CC in the Seventh Danish Trophy Ramazan cricket tournament played Friday.

Batting first Danish Sports raced to 144 for two in 20 overs with M. Iqbal top scoring with 73 runs. Munir Shafi weighed in with 50. Faisal Hussain bagged both the wickets for 24.

Wakenhut in reply could only manage 135 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, M. Shahrukh was the main scorer for the losers with 53. Munir Shafi picked up two wickets for 19 runs.

A day earlier Southern Telecommunication Region (STR II), beat Khatri Sports by five wickets in the opener.

Khatri Sports deciding batting first were skittled out for 98 in 16.2 overs with Wazirzada (22) and Amjad Ali (21) amongst the runs. Leg-spinner Masood Ahmed with five wickets for only three runs did the damage.

STR II reached the target in 16.3 overs and losing five wickets.Tauquir Ahmed was unbeaten with 41 runs and Javed Hussain (29), when victory came. Salman Yasin bagged two for 24 for the losers.
