PHF meeting next week

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Nov 7: Pakistan Hockey Federation will take important decisions in its executive committee meeting which will be held on Nov 15.

The current PHF management, which had failed to get satisfactory results in the last Commonwealth Games, Champions Trophy and Asian Games is likely to chalk out a new strategy for future competitions in the meeting.

Pakistan could only get a bronze medal each in the Commonwealth Games held in Manchester and in the Champions Trophy in Cologne, Germany this year. The team returned empty handed from the Asian Games for the first time.

Meanwhile, PHF secretary Brig Musarrat Ullah Khan is leaving for Islamabad Friday to discuss the manager’s report on the Asian Games with his president Gen Mohammad Aziz Khan.

To prepare Pakistan team for the Asia Cup for women a training camp begins at the National Hockey Stadium from Nov 15. The Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Singapore from Jan 15 to 18.
