KASUR, Nov 6: The students of the Government Technical Training Centre, Kasur, blocked the Raiwind-Kasur Road for traffic for about an hour on Wednesday.

They were protesting against the police failure to arrest the accused who injured their leader Samiullah Jat three weeks ago.

The students burnt used tyres to block the road and chanted slogans against the police and district administration.

Later, they disbursed when district Nazim assured them that the culprits would be arrested soon.

SHOT DEAD: Dacoits killed a villager on resistance in Sarai Chreena village, Phool Nagar, on Wednesday.

Siddiq Masih, Dildar and Zulfiqar were coming from Chreena village with some household items, where three unidentified men intercepted them at gunpoint.

Siddiq put up resistance and the dacoits opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Phool Nagar police registered the case against the dacoits who were at large.

ABDUCTED: Four men abducted a woman from Dholan Hateer village on Wednesday.

Muhammad Arif and his three accomplices forced their entry into the house of the woman when her husband was away. They collected Rs15,000 and gold ornaments and also forcibly took away the woman with them.

Khudian police registered the case.
