GTA calls off hunger strike

QUETTA, Nov 6: The Government Teachers Association called off the hunger strike after successful negotiation with the government.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, GTA president Abdul Ghaffar Kadezai said that the government had accepted their demands including the withdrawal of cases against the members of the association and the reinstatement of its 181 provincial and district office bearers.

“With regard to implementation of our 12 point charter of demands, the government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of provincial education secretary to consider these demands,” he said.—APP
