KARACHI, Nov 6: Bandits shot a woman to death in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday evening.
Police said that bandits tried to rob Mumtaz Begum, aged 50, when she was coming out of the Utility Store behind Ashfaq Memorial Hospital. The bandits opened fire on her when she raised alarm.
She was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police said that the woman lived in England, and she was visiting with her family in the city for a week.
CARJACKING: Eighteen vehicles — seven cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Wednesday, police said.
Three cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.
Four motorcycles were hijacked. Seven others were stolen.
KILLED: A young man was stabbed to death in TPX police limits on late Tuesday night.
Police said that unidentified men stabbed Mohammed Ilyas, aged 42, in the abdomen. He was rushed to JPMC where he died.
DIES: An official of a private security agency died in accidental firing in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday evening.
Police said that Mohammed Maqsood, aged 45, guard supervisor in a private security agency, was cleaning a rifle at his office in Sultan Complex near Jumani Arcade when it accidentally went off. A bullet hit him in the abdomen. He died on way to Civil Hospital.
