Extra-time match-winner by Hyder

LAHORE, Nov 5: A match-winner in the extra fifth chukker by Irfan Ali Hyder helped Travel Quest beat Care Knitwear 3-2 in the Musa Industries Cup polo tournament at the Lahore Polo Club ground Tuesday.

Locked 2-all at the end of the scheduled fourth chukker, the extra fifth chukker was played with widened goalposts. Irfan, who had scored an equaliser for a 2-2 score in the fourth chukker, struck the match-winner in the fifth chukker to end the thrilling match.

Earlier, no goal was scored in the first three chukkers.

Ahmad Nawaz drew first blood for Care Knitwear. Saeed Aslam equalised for the winners by scoring a field goal. Care Knitwear again took control of the match, when Samee Ibrahim scored a field goal for 2-1 lead. From here on, Irfan excelled scoring two goals. First he scored the equaliser in the fourth chukker and the winner in the extra fifth chukker.

Four goals by Sufi Aamir and three by Ashfaq helped Master Paints to beat Guard Rice 7-4 in other match of the day.

For the losers, Adnan Loan scored two goals while Taimur Malik and Shehzad Aziz chipped in with one goal each.
