SME Bank chief visits Muzaffarabad

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 5: The president of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Bank Limited, Mansoor Khan, on Tuesday visited the AJK capital to explore avenues to finance small and medium enterprises.

Mr Khan met AJK chief secretary Shahid Rafi and other government officials, besides holding meeting at lunch with a selected gathering.

He exchanged views and discussed the sectors where the bank could financially assist the interested entrepreneurs.

The vice president of the Muzaffarabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khwaja Farooq Qadri, and others suggested him to focus on lending in the handicrafts sector.

Earlier, the bank chief also visited the branch office of the SME Bank and appreciated the performance of the staff.

The regional manager of the SME Bank, Mohammed Ayub, later told Dawn that the institution would give priority to the information technology, especially its network in the educational institutions, transport and handicrafts sectors.

The bank, he said, was also intending to introduce a special scheme under its lending programme for the medical fraternity.
