ISLAMABAD, Nov 3: Four persons were killed in separate incidents and a body found in the capital.
According to the police, Saleem Masih, 28, was run over by a car, belonging to the National Defence College, on Islamabad highway on Saturday night, the police said.
Saleem was crossing the road when a Toyota car, driven by Mohammad Riaz, knocked him down. The police said Lt-Gen Javaid Hassan was also travelling in the car. The driver has been arrested by the Secretariat police.
In another road accident, Omer Gul, a labourer, was run over by a taxi in Tarlai Kalan.
The taxi driver, identified as Mohammad Shafiq, has been arrested and his vehicle impounded, the police said.
Mohammad Akram was killed after being hit by a car in Kohsar police area on Saturday night.
Akram was on his way home on his bicycle when he was hit by a car in F-7/3 sector. He died on the spot, the police said.
In another incident, Omer Khan, a resident of Peshawar, was killed after he fell from a truck in I-9 area on Saturday night.
The police said Omer Khan was sitting on top of his truck while his son was driving it. Suddenly Omer Khan lost his balance and fell from the truck as a result of which he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the Golra police found a body of a man, believed to have been strangled, on Sunday.
According to the police, some passers-by informed them that a body was lying in the green area of Shah Allah Ditta. Police shifted the body to Pims for autopsy.
MURDERED: A man was found murdered in his room in Hazara Colony on Sunday.
Samar Khan, a resident of Lakki Marwat, told the police that there had been no word from his father, Naseeb Khan, for the last three days. He said he alongwith with some relatives came to Hazara Colony where his father lived in a rented room.
Samar said when he reached his father’s room, he found the door locked from the outside. He said he got suspicious when he found a foul smell coming from inside the room. On entering the room after breaking the lock, they found Naseeb Khan stabbed to death.
The police said the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained. The body has been shifted to DHQ hospital for autopsy.
