JSM-Z: A large number of workers of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Zain group) staged token hunger strike outside the press club on Sunday to protest against the registration of false cases against Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah, son of G. M. Syed.

Talking to newsmen the central press secretary, Jeay Sindh Student Federation, Aslam Haider Solangi, and others said that the Syed family had performed a leading role in the national struggle for Sindh and that was the reason why they had always been victimized by the rulers.

They claimed that Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah had been implicated in false water theft cases.

They demanded that the false cases against Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah should be withdrawn.

STPP: The chairman, Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, has said that the rulers are once again conspiring to build the Kalabagh Dam and they want to destroy the agrarian economy of Sindh through the construction of the greater Thal canal.

He said this while delivering his inaugural speech at the 10th annual national congress of the party at the Taraqqi Passand House on Sunday.

He warned that the people of Sindh would never tolerate the construction of anti-Sindh projects and would resist it strongly as they had been doing for the last 25 years.

He said notwithstanding the anti-Sindh policies adopted by the rulers, Sindh had a bright future.

The central leaders of the party, including Ali Hasan Chandio and others, and 293 councillors attended the party congress.
