KARACHI, Nov 3: Thirty-seven vehicles — 11 cars and 26 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the past 48 hours in the city, police said.
Fifteen vehicles — five cars and 10 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen on Sunday.
Two cars were hijacked. Three others were stolen.
Four motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen.
Twenty-two vehicles — six cars and 16 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Saturday, police said.
Two cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.
The cars were hijacked/stolen in different areas, including Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gulistan-i-Jauhar and Saddar, etc.
Nine motorcycles were hijacked. Seven others were stolen.
The motorcycles were hijacked/stolen in North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar, Korangi, SITE, and other localities.
ACCIDENTS: A young man died in a road accident in Ferozabad police limits on Sunday.
Police said that Mohammed Aijazuddin, aged 24, was run over by an unidentified vehicle at the Mehmoodabad traffic signal.
He was rushed to the JPMC where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
A 40-year-old unidentified man died when he came under the wheels of a train near Drigh Road railway station. He was walking across the railway tracks when the accident took place.
The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem. Later, the body was shifted to the Edhi’s morgue for identification, police said.
DROWNED: An unidentified man drowned in the sea near the Karachi Fish Harbour on Sunday.
Edhi sources said that the unidentified man slipped and fell into the sea.
The body had not been recovered till our going to the press.
ELECTROCUTED: Two persons died of electrocution in the city on Sunday.
Edhi sources said that Mazhar, aged 18, suffered severe electric shock in Ibrahim Haideri. The other victim of electrocution was Akbar. Both the bodies were brought to the JPMC for post-mortem, police said.
