KARACHI: PPP, MMA hold talks on Sindh coalition

KARACHI, Nov 3: Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Sunday held talks on the possibility of their coalition government in the province.

The PPP side included Nisar Khuhro, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, N.D. Khan and Rashid Rabbani while the MMA team was led by Asadullah Bhutto at the meeting which was held at the residence of the president of PPP’s Karachi division.

The meeting also focused on the evolving political situation in the country in general and in Sindh and Karachi in particular. The leaders exchanged views on the composition of the future parliament.

Talking to the media after the talks, Asadullah Bhutto said that his side had engaged in a dialogue with the PPP with all sincerity and for the stability of democratic dispensation.

He said that the continuing negotiations with the PPP was strengthening the joint struggle for the right of the people as well as the supremacy of the parliament and Constitution.

Responding to the MMA’s gestures, Nisar Khuhro said that both sides were engaged in a positive dialogue for providing a stable political dispensation.

He said that interest of the people will be given prime importance in reaching any agreement.

He said that he was engaged in negotiations with all the political forces in the larger interest of the people of Sindh.
