SANGHAR, Nov 2: Re-polling was held on Saturday on PS-83 (Shahdadpur) at the Government Degree College polling station.
Tight security was observed as heavy contingents of police, including commandos and armoured personnel carriers (APCs) were deployed around the polling station.
A large number of policemen were posted at the rooftops of the surrounding buildings.
Tension remained high between the supporters of the two main candidates — Mahi Khan Wassan of the Pakistan Muslim League (F) and Abdul Rehman Thaheem of the People’s Party Parliamentarians.
Some 406 votes were cast till 5pm out of a total of 1,099 registered male voters.
According to the unofficial results, the PPP candidate had received 237 votes and the PML (F) bagged 167, whereas 24 votes were rejected. Three votes were polled to other candidates
