LAHORE, Nov 1: Former Lahore High Court Bar Association president Syed Ahmad Saeed Kirmani, in an appeal to the present leaders of the Bar, has requested to exercise observe restraint and find out a way to resolve the differences obtaining at the movement between the Bar and Bench.
In a press release issued on Friday, he said if the Bar leaders continued to follow a war path, the unfortunate result would be the irreparable damage to the institutions —- the judiciary and the Bar.
He said that there existed no problem in the world that could not be solved with grace and fairness, adding “to destroy an institution is an easy job and to maintain and uphold it is a fairly a different task”.
“The country is already passing through very difficult phase and it may sound unpleasant but it is a fact that Pakistan has a few friends at the moment in the world.”
Mr Kirmani appealed to the Bar leaders to resist from confrontation and instead resolve the matter subsisting between the Bar and the Bench with dignity, grace and with the desire to uphold the prestige and utility of the major key institution, including the judiciary.
He requested the Bench to be liberal, large-hearted and accommodating so that the situation may not develop into an insoluble one.
