Five grounds handed over to KCCA

KARACHI, Oct 31: Five cricket grounds fully developed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were handed over to the officials of the Karachi City Cricket Association Thursday.

The PCB has spent an amount of Rs 2.5 million on each ground for development.

The fully developed mini stadiua handed over to KCCA were: Landhi Gynmkhana (Zone-V), Pak Star Cricket Ground at Malir Colony (Zone-IV), MCC Ground at Block-13, Federal B Areas (Zone-II) Pakistan Students ground at thickly populated B Area Liaquataabad (Zone-I) and Asifabad Sports Complex ground at Hasrat Mohani Colony, Manghopir Road (Zone-VII).

PCB has provided grassy grounds with three main turf wickets for matches while two turf wickets for net practice covered with iron nets, a pavilion with dressing rooms, fixed fibre glass chairs under the shade for spectators, tubewells with overhead and underground water tanks, manual score board and ground maintenance equipment including pitch covers, light and heavy roller, grass cutting machines, etc.

PCB had promised to develop seven cricket grounds in the city, but the KGA (Zone-III) and Norwegian School authorities in Orangi (Zone VI) showed lack of interest in developing their grounds.—APP
