Palm oil prices lower
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31: Malaysia’s palm oil futures extended losses on Thursday after players took profits ahead of an industry gathering and a long holiday, traders said.
At the close, benchmark third-month January futures fell 17 ringgit to 1,510 ringgit ($397.37) a ton after touching a high of 1,529 ringgit.
Volume was heavy at 5,783 lots.
In the physical sector, crude palm oil for November saw bids at 1,510 ringgit a ton against sellers’ offers of 1,520 ringgit for southern and central regions.
Deals were reported at 1,520 to 1,535 ringgit a ton for south and at 1,520 to 1,525 ringgit a ton for central.
December CPO was bid/offered at 1,515/1,525 ringgit a ton for southern and central regions.
