ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 : The International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff mission is schedule to arrive here on Nov 7 to carry out the fourth review of Pakistani economy under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF), said a senior official.
During its stay, the review mission would be briefed on revenue performance in the first four months of the current financial year in comparison to that of last year.
The mission would also be briefed on the tax-wise performance of revenue collection during the July-October period of the current financial year over the same period of the previous year.
They would also be given presentation on the future projections for the remaining months.
The tax authorities would also give detailed briefing on the steps so far taken for the implementation of the reform agenda of the tax administration-medium taxpayer unit, Lahore, refund rules, and working of the CBR consultants.
During the review of Pakistani economy, the official said that the mission would discuss in details budgetary revenue and expenditure developments, balance of payment, external financing, debt service, recent macro developments/prospects, monetary data issues and privatization programme progress to date.
The other areas to be reviewed included — property issues — monitoring of I-PRSP expenditure, outcome monitoring/agreement on devolution, accounting, auditing issues, fiscal responsibility law, agriculture reform and prospects for agricultural production.
