QUETTA, Oct 29: Special judge anti-corruption, Atiqur Rehman, on Tuesday awarded eight years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs7.6 million to an assistant food controller, Punal Khan, in a corruption case.
According to the prosecution, Punal Khan, who was appointed assistant food controller in 1994 in Dalbandin and worked there for two years, embezzled wheat worth Rs5.6 million.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment had registered the against him and taken him into custody. The court found him guilty.
Prosecution inspector of the establishment, Najam Saqib, appeared on behalf of the state.
