17 killed in Valley
SRINAGAR, Oct 28: Two Indian soldiers were among 17 people killed in clashes in occupied Kashmir on Monday and Sunday night.
An Indian defence ministry spokesman claimed troops had killed six militants in two encounters near the LoC.
In Udhampur, two members of an Indian paramilitary force were killed and another was seriously injured in a landmine blast on Monday, police said.
Four Muslim civilians, including two women, were killed in the crossfire of a gunfight between Mujahideen and Indian troops in the village of Hill Kaka, in Poonch district. The deaths occurred when troops moved into the village for a search operation.
Three more Muslims were shot dead by unknown gunmen who abducted them from their homes in the districts of Anantnag and Kupwara, the police spokesman said.—AFP
