Nurses end strike

By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Oct 28: The nursing staff of the DHQ hospital ended their strike when their ‘kidnapped’ colleague returned and official residence of superintendent was got vacated on Monday.

Third-year nursing student Zahida Mannan came to the hospital along with her mother. Zahida, medical superintendent Muhammad Javed and nursing superintendent Ms Manzoor Nawaz, addressed a press conference where she (Zahida) denied that she was kidnapped.

She claimed that nursing instructor Kaniz Fatima and Hifsa Yasmin and house-keeper Tahira were against the superintendent and wanted her to be transferred to any other place. They had plotted to defame her through this scandal.

She said that she fell sick and admitted to the hospital. She went to her house along with her mother after Dr Asif Javed discharged her, she added.

The nursing staff went on strike when their colleague was allegedly kidnapped by the son of nursing superintendent.
