KARACHI: Orangi to have 50-bed hospital


KARACHI, Oct 23: In order to provide health facilities to a maximum number of residents of Karachi, the city government has approved Rs4.75 million for development of health facilities in various parts of the city, including a 50-bed hospital in Orangi Town and a centre for handicapped children in Lyari.

The city government will establish a dispensary in Hawkesbay Scheme-42 for effectees fo Lyari Expressway.

Initially, the hospital would accommodate up to 50 beds, but later it is expected to be upgraded and work on this project would commence from next month, whereas tenders for the project worth Rs2.8 million have been called.

Work on dispensary for the effectees of Lyari expressway will start from next month. This project would be completed within the current fiscal and is estimated to cost 9.5 million.
