Ponting, McGrath top averages

KARACHI, Oct 22: Ricky Ponting topped the batting averages at the end of three-match series, which ended in 3-0 victory for Steve Waugh’s Australian side.

Glenn McGrath headed the bowling averages, nudging ahead of Shane Warne, the highest wicket-taker in the series.

Hasan Raza was easily the best Pakistan batsman on view despite playing only one Test in the rubber.

Shoaib Akhtar, the injury-proned fast bowler, was on top of Pakistan’s bowling averages.
